Carpet Cleaning - Shampooing
The three most common ways to damage your carpets are over-shampooing, over-wetting and failing to protect the wet carpet from furniture. Over-shampooing occurs when too much shampoo is used or the carpet is not adequately rinsed. Over-wetting occurs when too much water gets into the bottom of the carpet. The final carpet-cleaning hazard is stains caused by furniture coming into contact with wet carpeting. Some furniture has feet that are at least partially metal. The metal can rust, leaving a stain on the carpet.
Benefits of shampooing carpets:
1. A wide variety of competing chemicals that can be targeted to a specific fiber or soil.
2. The long dwell time of chemical on fiber compared to bonnet cleaning.
3. The high agitation which can release more soils than other methods.
